This week’s Tasty Tuesday post features a simple dish that’s packed with flavor. The sauce is rich and creamy, and the beef was so tender it just fell apart in our mouths. It’s total comfort food.
I found the recipe on Pinterest while searching for ways to use the beef tips Eric and I recently purchased at Costco. I really wanted something that didn’t use cream of mushroom soup (I hate mushrooms and find the cream of mushroom soup a little too salty at times), so this was perfect. It does still use cream of chicken soup, but it wasn’t overwhelmingly salty.
I can’t take credit for this one, though. I sent Eric the recipe, and he took care of the rest!
It was difficult to get a good picture just because it doesn’t look overly appetizing. Trust me when I say it tastes awesome, though! Personal photo.
Crock Pot Beef Tips and Noodles
Recipe taken from http://www.imalazymom.com
Adapted very slightly by Eric!
- 2 lbs beef tips
- 1 10.5 oz. can 98% fat free cream of chicken soup
- 1 8 oz. container sour cream
- 1 packet Lipton onion soup mix
- 1/2 tsp garlic salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 package egg noodles
1.) Place beef tips in crock pot.
2.) In a separate bowl, mix soup, sour cream, and onion soup mix together.
3.) Pour mixture over beef tips.
4.) Cook on low for around 2 hours. Add garlic salt and black pepper and stir to coat evenly.
5.) Cook on low for an additional 4 to 6 hours. (Total cook time should be 6-8 hours.)
6.) Near the end of cook time, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook egg noodles according to package directions.
7.) Enjoy! Eric paired this meal with some peas, but I’m sure it would taste great with most vegetables.
